Das Projekt Netzwerk-Forum zur Biodiversitätsforschung Deutschland (NeFo) arbeitet momentan eine Studie zu deutscher Biodiversitätsforschung im Ausland mit dem Ziel, Forschungsbedingungen und Forschungsförderung zu verbessern. Im Rahmen dieser Studie möchte NeFo Wissenschaftler und Wissenschaftlerinnen mit Auslandserfahrung dazu einladen, an einer kurzen Umfrage teilzunehmen. Die Ergebnisse der Studie werden anschließend anonymisiert auf unserer Webseite www.biodiversity.de veröffentlicht.

we are happy to announce that the webpage of gtö 2011 conference is online and available at: www.gtoe-conference.de.

The annual conference 2011, to be held in Frankfurt from February 21 to 24, 2011 will provide an interdisciplinary platform for intensive discussion, particularly on the following main topics:

ECOTROPICA now covered by Science Citation Index!

The Society of Tropical Ecology is happy to announce that the Journal ECOTROPICA is now covered by Thomson Scientific’s JCR (Journal Citation Report) and the SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded), starting with volume 15 (2009).

Inspired by these great news we are working on several upgrades for our journal. Besides introducing changes in the editorial workflow (introduction of subject editors) we are currently planning a “facelift” of the journal. We are looking forward to receive your manuscripts!

The Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation (ATBC) and the Society for Tropical Ecology (GTÖ) released a joint communiqué during their join annual meeting in Marburg 2009 regarding the urgent need to maximize biodiversity conservation in forest carbon-trading.
